ABOUT THE CHALLENGE

Achieve More… Accessibility

Finding safe and accessible housing is a constant challenge people with disabilities face every single day. Currently we have a waiting list – people who have chosen to receive services through South Dakota Achieve and yet we are unable to help at this time because we lack the space.

This year the net proceeds from the 5th Annual Morgan Stanley Big Cup Challenge will be directed to rent subsidies for the people we serve. Our goal is to make accessible and affordable homes to adults with disabilities because so many dream about living in a real home in a real neighborhood and with friends.

Achieve More… Affordability

Finding affordable housing is another challenge people with disabilities face. Nothing compares with the feeling one receives from living in a safe and comfortable home – and knowing you have the means necessary to live there.

A portion of the net proceeds from this year’s golf benefit will also be used to reduce rent payments for those individuals living in the duplex.

You can help! Here’s how…

1) Play golf and have fun getting to know the new South Dakota Achieve on June 2nd at Minnehaha Country Club.

2) Consider making a contribution to the Wish List of appliances and other amenities so together we can make the house into a home.

3) Consider an additional cash gift that we’ll direct to making homes more affordable and more accessible for people with disabilities.

 About South Dakota Achieve

In 1958, eleven families started South Dakota Achieve because they believed there was a better way of life for people with disabilities. They understood the value of giving their family member a chance to have a meaningful life. Fifty years later, South Dakota Achieve takes pride in its legacy and its mission to find innovative ways for people with disabilities to achieve their dreams. – everything from receiving more education, to gaining new job skills, to giving back to the community. Currently, 416 people receive services through South Dakota Achieve.
