About Us

Our Mission

We Find Innovative Ways For People With Disabilities
To Achieve Their Dreams

Our Beliefs

Our Principles

The Board of Directors and the staff of South Dakota ACHIEVE believe that citizens with disabilities . . .
  • Possess inherent dignity and deserve rights and respect.
  • Be allowed to make choices and take chances and risks that are common to the growth of any person.
  • Have the opportunity to live, work, and be participating citizens in the community.
  • Deserve optimum freedom to develop meaningful relationships.

  • Setting the standard of excellence by finding new and innovative ways to provide services to people with disabilities.
  • Demonstrating integrity in all our business and service relationships.
  • Having compassionate and dedicated staff who are committed to service excellence
  • Financial stability to ensure quality services.
  • Providing a variety of opportunities by listening to the people we serve and their families.
  • Community partnerships – our involvement with them and their involvement with us.

In 1958, eleven families started South Dakota ACHIEVE (SDA) because they believed there was a better way of life for children with disabilities.

They understood the value of giving their family member a chance to have a meaningful life.

Today South Dakota Achieve (SDA) is about PEOPLE…
PEOPLE who have dreams and goals…
PEOPLE who have a disability.

Our goal is to discover each person’s dream and make it happen. That dream may be to live independently, to communicate, to be involved in the community, to make new friends, or to live a healthier life style.

Whatever the dream, South Dakota Achieve is creating pathways to achieve those dreams!
